It's true... Riverdale is officially coming to an end.

As reported by Variety on May 19, The CW has announced the series’ upcoming seventh season will be the last.

The broadcaster announced the decision while unveiling its fall release schedule, which noted Riverdale’s seventh season will be the final one. Season 7 of the show is expected to premiere during the mid-season in 2023, which means probably between January and May.

Back in December 2021, Lili Reinhart, who plays Betty Cooper on the show, admitted the cast and crew were hopeful “for a season seven” during an Instagram live but later added that “that will probably be the last one.” Cole Sprouse, who plays Jughead Jones, also recently shared most of the cast was ready to "wrap it up with a bow."
