Kim Kardashian is clarifying her controversial statements about women's work ethic, saying her comments were “taken out of context.”
Kim sat down with Good Morning America on March 28th to clarify what she meant when she advised women to “get your f**king a** up and work.”
Kim's career advice received a lot of backlash on social media, with many calling her privileged and insensitive. "That statement that I said was without questions and conversation around it and it became a sound bite really with no context,” Kim said in the GMA interview. “And [in] that sound bite, I came off the notion and the question right before — which was ‘after 20 years of being in the business, you’re famous for being famous.’”
According to Kim, she prickled at that claim during the interview, and her comments were a reaction to the commonly used phrase that her family is "famous for being famous" instead of their many business endeavors. She acknowledged the tone of her comments and clarified that she meant to communicate the idea that having a reality show isn't a ticket to fame.
