Okay, what person listens to Lizzo's "Truth Hurts" and doesn't feel seen? I mean there are SO many lyrics from that song that are just like, "sooo me" - like the following...
"Yeah, I got boy problems, that's the human in me. Bling bling then I solve em, that's the goddess in me."
"I put the sing in single. Ain't worried about a ring on my finger."
So, this came from a voicemail from an ex - he basically told her he got back together with his ex and never to contact him again. Lizzo blocked him on EVERYTHING and then headed into the studio.
She didn't want to go into the studio, but she did and was kinda just telling her producer what happened and he started taking notes. Then "Truth Hurts" was born!
TBH I fully did this when I went through my bad breakup. I LEGIT took pictures of the toilet paper roll that I used for my tears. I documented it as it got smaller and smaller. I also wrote notes to myself and took screenshot of texts. When I write my book I want to have ALL the memories be fresh.
Lizzo is just proof that vulnerability connects!
