What a beautiful weekend in Santa Barbara at the Avon 39 Walk To End Breast Cancer.. I’ve really never experienced anything like it.
I want to thank all the women I met this weekend for letting me into your lives. You shared with me stories of your loved ones & I’ll never be able to thank you enough.
Eileen opened my eyes to a woman named Kristy.
Kristy is a teacher at West Riverside Elementary School in Riverside. Her coworker Jenny told me she was an unfiltered, hilarious, supportive leader. She was diagnosed about 4 years ago and since then has had 9 major surgeries.
She has a wonderful support system & I loved that her best friend Eileen was walking in support of her this weekend.
Kristy, I’m so bummed I didn’t meet you this weekend but I’m so glad I was able to hear your story.
The Sassy Support Sisters – who were walking in honor of their friend Gina that they lost to cancer.
What a wonderful group of women that I was so happy to meet.
I also want to draw attention to a woman that was walking the 39 miles in a wheelchair. She would get up and walk a couple blocks.. Then get back in her wheelchair where I lovely fireman would push her. I am so sad I never introduced myself to you because you have inspired me in ways you’ll never know.
And last but not least, my mom.
The woman that inspires me the most in my life. Thank you for being by my side this weekend. Thank you for always bringing out the best in me. And thank you for always supporting me in everything I do in life… I love you!
