Pfizer Requests Vaccine Clearance For Kids Ages 12-15

BRITAIN-HEALTH-VIRUS-VACCINES

There could be some very good news for kids ages 12-15 soon: Pfizer has requested the FDA approve their vaccine use for people as low as the age of 12.

Pfizer has done testing on ages 12-15 and found the COVID-19 vaccine is 100 percent effective for those ages. They are now hoping to get emergency use of the vaccine approved, as they have done with people over the age of 16 already (and a big part of the reason so many of us have begun to get the vaccine, alongside the Moderna and Johnson and Johnson vaccines.)

Pfizer announced on Friday that the vaccine was tested and ready to be used for anyone 12 and over:

This news is even more important now as Covid-19 infections among younger teens and kids seem to be what is driving outbreaks in some states, as reported by NBC News.

Pfizer is applying for the emergency use for 12 and over here in the United States as well as worldwide, in order to get as many people worldwide vaccinated as possible.

Throughout the trials, Pfizer found that side effects in kids and young teens were about the same as they are in adults - some fatigue, headaches and sore arm.

Next for Pfizer is continuing their trials and research in the vaccine for kids even younger than 12.

I've gotten my first shot of the vaccine - though I got Moderna - and felt pretty great and normal! If you have kids who are 12 or older, would you be comfortable with them getting it now? Obviously the research has been done! And the Pfizer vaccine is being given out to anyone 16+ here in Los Angeles now.

I can only imagine how much parents are looking forward to getting their kids protected AND back to school and normal extra curricular activities and sports.
