Could This 'Candy Slide' Be The Thing That Saves Halloween This Year?

US-HALLOWEEN-PUMPKINS-SCULPTURES

We all know that Halloween is going to look a bit different this year due to the coronavirus pandemic that is still on going around the world.

Here in Los Angeles, it was first announced that trick-or-treating would be banned for Halloween in 2020, but then the ban was quickly reversed and officials stated it is just suggested to *not* go trick-or-treating this year. Of course, if a family really wants to go out and go door to door, while wearing masks and maintaining social distancing, then they are allowed to do so.

If you're wondering how you can keep the Halloween traditions alive for your kids - while also keeping everyone as safe as possible - then this "candy slide" featured on YouTube channel Wicked Makers may be the answer.

The candy slide is really just made out of PVC pipe and Halloween decorations, and allows people at their door to distribute candy to kids from six feet away AND directly into their bag, bucket or pillow case!

Watch their video below to see how they turn PVC pipe, glue, cheesecloth, paint and plastic skeleton decorations into this genius Halloween 2020 hack.

The best part of this Halloween prop is that you can actually make it any design you wish! Maybe you're more into spiders or jack-o-lanterns. OR if you have an elaborate costume planned for handing out candy, you can make the slide into something that goes with your costume. If you're dressing up as Tarzan, you can cover the slide in vines. If you're going to be Minnie and Mickey Mouse, the slide could be covered in other Disney characters!

The options are essentially endless for making it possible to safely hand out candy this year... and I'm seriously considering making one of these!

I'm sure we won't have a ton of trick-or-treaters come to the door this year due to the pandemic, but I would love to be prepared so that anyone who DOES come by, doesn't have to be turned away!
