LEGO Just Released A 'Friends' Set In Honor Of The Show's 25th Anniversary

US-LIFESTYLE-TOYS-CHILDREN

I am just starting to think about introducing LEGOs to my kids (they're a little young for the smaller pieces. so we would have to stick to the big LEGOs right now!) but the latest set that LEGO just announced has me wanting to run to the closest LEGO retailer I possibly can.

The toy company just announced a Friends set in honor of the show's 25th anniversary. Yes, all your favorite NYC residents - Monica, Rachel, Ross, Joey, Chandler and Phoebe - are becoming tiny toy people! So whoever said toys are just for kids are completely wrong, because clearly this set is made for someone who is at least 25 years old.

LEGO first teased the new set two days ago with a quick Instagram video of the toys of our favorite characters sitting on a couch in front of the famous fountain.

Then, today, they officially announced the details of the set that have adults all over the world absolutely freaking out.

Naturally, the set contains the main characters and the pieces to put together Central Perk, the coffee shop that so much of the show takes place at, it made you and all your friends want to have your own "spot" where you always sat.

From the looks of the video, shared by LEGO, the Central Perk setting wouldn't be complete without Gunther himself, the somewhat creepy but always hilarious barista.

And you don't have to wait too long to get your hands on your very own Central Perk!

The LEGO Ideas Central Perk set will be released on Sept. 1 and contains a total of 1,070 pieces for $59.99.

I have to say, while $60 is a lot to spend on a "toy" (not one my kids will be playing with, though!) I do think it's a reasonable price for something as iconic as the Friends set.

The set obviously includes our favorite "friends", it also includes items inspired from the TV series, including Ross’s keyboard, Rachel’s tray and coffee cup, Monica’s muffin, Joey’s pizza box, Chandler’s laptop, Phoebe’s guitar, and Gunther’s broom. Yep, sounds like a typical Friends episode to us.

Obsessed. This is GENIUS!
