It's funny how when people know one thing about your life, they feel comfortable asking about the NEXT step. First, when you're single, they ask when you're going to find someone. Then when you're dating, they want to know if you're going to get married. Once you're married, they HAVE to ask when kids are coming.
And once you have a kid, or two in my case, then people are asking if you are going to have more, and when!
I know it's just been ingrained in our minds that those are the things you ask someone (but also, why? Each of those things can be such sensitive topics!) but it's time we all consider what we're asking.
Especially when it comes to having children, a lot of women struggle with getting pregnant, or have suffered miscarriages, and constantly asking them if they are pregnant, trying, or when a baby is coming, can be really hurtful.
Chrissy Teigen just posted a photo of her kids, Luna and Miles, sitting on her lap, with the caption: "Rascals, in descending order of rascality."
The photo is SO cute. But it also, for whatever reason, inspired people to suggest she and husband John Legend have another kid.
One comment said: "i think you can fit one more little one on the end" with a winking face and a heart. To which Chrissy responded, "all good! gonna try to wait a few years before attempting again. These guys are exhausting!"
And she's got a GREAT point!
People ask me alll the time if I'm ready to have another kid and, well, I already have twins who are only 15 months old, and they definitely tire me out. As much as I get that feeling of already missing the baby years, I also have to really think about if we have the energy (and the space!!) for another baby.
A lot of us know that Chrissy and John were able to have their kids through IVF, so suggesting they go through that process again is a really personal decision that we all should probably stay out of.
For now, let's all enjoy how much Chrissy and John let us into their private life with their two adorable little ones.
