When Should You Book Your Thanksgiving Flights?

As fun as they are, we all know that the holidays can also be VERY stressful.

There's planning to be done, food to be cooked and, usually, flights to be booked... and paid for.

Traveling around the holidays can get very expensive, especially for those of us with a family and not just ourselves, so I have some tips for you if you're trying to figure out when exactly is the best time to book your family's travel for Thanksgiving.

And let's face it, you may not have even thought about your Thanksgiving plans yet because it still feels like it's summer, but what I'm telling you is that now is the time to start thinking about it!

Thanks to Expedia, we now know that the best time to book your flights for Thanksgiving are anywhere from RIGHT NOW until October 22nd.

Expedia revealed that the optimal time to book a flight for Thanksgiving is anywhere from 31 to 90 days before the holiday, and with Thanksgiving being on November 22nd this year, that means it's officially go time!

In 2017, travelers who booked their flights during this window of about 60 days saved roughly 10% more than travelers who booked at other times. And when you're booking for more than just yourself, saving money is ALWAYS a plus!

If your travel plans include needing a hotel, then we have some tips for you on saving money there, too!

If you can wait on booking, then booking a hotel closer to your trip, like, zero to six days out, can save you up to 20 or 30 percent.

That seems a little stressful to me, because I would like to know that I'm all set up and know where I'm staying long ahead of time, but if you're willing to hold off and have some flexibility of where you're staying, then you can definitely save some money!

This Thanksgiving, we definitely aren't planning on flying, but soon we will need to take the babies on their first flight!
