Katy Perry Talks '143': Everything From Meditation to Motherhood & More

Katy Perry's new album 143 is more than just a party. The "Woman's World" songstress joined Ryan Seacrest in-studio on Wednesday, August 21, and shared everything from how Transcendental Meditation has changed her life to how becoming a mother made her feel complete and much, much more.

143 is Katy's seventh studio album and drops September 20 with hits "Woman's World" and "Lifetimes."

"It's my angel number and it shows up anytime I need a little confirmation or a sign from my highest guide," Katy shared of the title, revealing she discovered 143 while going through a tough time. "I needed something and I started seeing it and I looked it up and it means 'I love you.'"

The Grammy-nominated artist also gets confirmation from her 4-year-old daughter, Daisy, who also served as inspiration. Katy shared with Seacrest that in the past she was creating music as a way to create an alternative reality but now she's living her dream.

"Here's the deal: After my daughter was born I found all the love I ever needed. ... I climbed every mountain before her and I was looking for the view and the view was her and so now my joy is not really outside of myself. My joy is within myself, my family, with her so it really can't ever be taken away and there's something really powerful about that. ...I've never been able to write an album I think out of feeling more whole, less broken."

Watch back the full interview for more including to hear why Katy won't let her partner, Orlando Bloom, base jump, how TM has changed her life and even how she uses meditation as a sleep hack for all the sleep-deprived parents out there!

Plus, what's her latest fitness secret? And how does she feel about Carrie Underwood returning to American Idol? We got it all.

143 drops September 20th. Stream "Lifetimes" out now.
