“We were playing in the front yard, our drive way area, and the kids have these remote control cars you can sit them in and the parent controls them,” Sisanie recalled. “Any time a car would come they would stop and we would move over … [but] this truck started coming towards us and he was driving pretty slow and I just saw he wasn’t really paying attention. …He got like ten inches from clipping the little toy car,” Sis explained.
Sisanie was able to keep Maxon out of harm, but the close call left her startled.
“I’m still sick to my stomach. I get flashbacks of it every day,” Sis added. “I jump in, I wave at him and … he was super apologetic and was like, ‘I’m going to be completely honest I was texting, the sun was in my eyes, I was not paying attention.’”
Sisanie expressed that in a “blink of an eye,” their whole lives could have changed.
