The state of California has cleared the way for other service businesses to resume indoor operations.
According to the Los Angeles Times, all personal care services — including hair removal, massage and tattoo parlors — will now be allowed to resume modified indoor operations. The report adds that the state will allow such businesses to resume regardless of their county’s position within the state’s four-tier reopening framework.
This follows a recent allowing of other establishments like barber shops and nails salons to re-open their doors.
According to the report, this decision was “based on a number of conversations, our looking at the data and the evidence,” California Health and Human Services Secretary Dr. Mark Ghaly said during a weekly briefing.
California officials continue to urge caution and stress that patrons must remain vigilant amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
