You know that feeling you get when you hear the jingle of the ice cream truck driving through your neighborhood? Now imagine that but with TACOS!
That's what this local Los Angeles food truck is doing. The marvelous website LATaco reports that this beautiful sky blue tacos truck is operated by three 24-year-olds from South Los Angeles decided they wanted to give back to their communities by helping out local restaurants and providing a food truck for them to use! Amazing right?
The three 24-year-olds are Gabriel Gamez, Alberto Rivera, and Enrique Loyola. LATaco says this idea sparked after they asked themselves how they could make a positive impact. Gabriel told LATaco , “We came across that memet hat said, please consider having taco trucks cruise the streets like ice cream trucks and it triggered this idea.”
Through hard work, the three brought "On the Go LA" to life, which LATaco calls a new innovative platform that helps local restaurants in Los Angeles book short-term food truck rentals at the lowest cost. On the Go LA serves as a convenient help for local Los Angeles restaurants during the Coronavirus pandemic.
Here is how LATaco describes how "On the Go LA" operates: They don’t own the food truck but instead have approached it as brokers. Gabriel Gamez told the Latinx outlet the following:
“Renting a lunch truck is expensive and they only do long term rentals. So what we’re doing is taking that long term rental, and splitting it up by day so that local family restaurants can take advantage of it.”
