Domino's Pizza, Inc. and its nationwide system of franchisees have banded together during the Covid-19 crisis to do something amazing for the community!
As part of it's nationwide “Feed the Need” campaign, Domino’s will be giving away 58,000 pizzas throughout the greater Los Angeles area. The pizza company's franchises will donate roughly 10 million slices of pizza nationwide, starting this week.
All 6,126 stores nationwide are expected to be a part of this effort. Russell Weiner, Domino's Pizza's Chief Operating Officer, said the following in a press release:
"We have a long history of feeding people during times of crisis and uncertainty. When we were looking at how we could help, we knew we could use the reach of our national brand to make a difference in thousands of local neighborhoods. We have franchisees and company-owned stores all over the country already doing amazing work in their communities and we know that by amplifying those efforts together we will be able to help even more people who are struggling right now."
About 290 locally-owned stores will each donate 200 pizzas to L.A. area hospitals, medical centers, school children, families, health departments, grocery store workers and other in need, a news release from the company stated.
The campaign is part of the company’s plan to donate 1.2 million pizzas nationwide. According to ABC7, Domino’s announced they were trying to fill 2,500 full and part-time positions in the L.A. area last month. The opportunities included delivery drivers, customer service representatives, assistant managers and managers.
