The Queen of Tejano is making history.

Selena Quintanilla has been officially inducted inducted into Rodeo Houston's Star Trail of Fame, making her the first Latina artist and second female act overall to be inducted.

Rodeo Houston's official Instagram account made the announcement over the weekend (Sunday, March 8), showing the unveiling of the golden plaque positioned next to the legend Elvis Presley. Selena's brother and sister - Suzette and A.B. Quintanilla were in attendance for the ceremony.

Billboard reports that Selena's family celebrated 25 years since Selena & Los Dinos took the stage for the last time at the Houston Astrodome in the Rodeo on February 26th.

Billboard adds that Selena performed three years in a row (1993-1995), ultimately breaking her own record with the 1995 televised spectacle that drew nearly 67,000 attendees. AMAZING!

Additionally, the Queen of Tejano in only the ninth person inducted into the Star Trail of Fame. She joins the likes of Reba McEntire and Brooks and Dunn. Get this!... Selena's induction into the Star Trail of Fame took place on International Women’s Day AND it was also on Go Tejano Day at Rodeo Houston, recognizing the Hispanic culture within Texas' heritage.
