The trailer for Disney+'s new series Diary of a Future President is finally here and we couldn't be more excited!
Tha Latina powerhouse, Gina Rodriguez, is bringing her producer hat (and acting) to the new streaming service. She is directing and starring in the new Disney+ series - which will be a 10-episode series.
Diary of a Future President will follow newcomer, Tess Romero, a Cuban-American girl by the name of Elena, as she navigates the harsh world of middle school on her way to becoming the future president of the United States (adult Elena is played by Rodriguez).
In this new trailer, we see Rodriguez introduced first, showing Elena’s future and going back into the past through the reading of her middle school diary. We hear Elena say: “It’s a day-by-day account of how I got here,”
In the trailer we also see Elena's brother, Bobby (Charlie Bushnell), her mother Gabby (Selenis Levya), her best friend and her first crush. The trailer also alludes that she’ll have to learn to navigate constant change and find her “new normal” with the help of her friends and family.
Diary of a Future President is perfectly what you would expect for Disney’s audiences... kind of giving some old school Lizzie McGuire vibes, right?
