It is the end of an era.
Passengers who frequent the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority - or simply known as Metro's buses and subways are no longer able to use token for their rides, ABC7 reports.
The final day to use those tokens was Friday, 11/29 - they will no longer be accepted. Now, riders have to use a TAP card.
The ABC7 reporting adds Metro has been phasing out tokens for the last 18 months in order to push more people into using the TAP cards. Cards are cheaper than tokens were, more simple and safe to use.
Important note: If you have unused tokens, you cannot be refunded. However, you can use them to load a one-way trip onto a TAP card.
