Fall is finally here and along with that came the debut of a new fall-flavored-product....SPAM!
That's right. The world-famous meat debuted a pumpkin spice-flavored version of their meat. SPAM released this new flavor on Monday to celebrate the first official day of fall. Hormel Foods Corporation reported that it sold out in less than several hours.
A press release from the corporation states that the limited-edition product is available on SPAM and Walmart websites in two-packs for $8.98. The company announced that it is “allowing customers to look beyond lattes and donuts” by selling this version of SPAM. I mean...this really IS looking past the lattes.
The press release continues: "Although the new variety may sound too good to be true, it's true. The makers of the iconic SPAM brand have created a flavor that can be incorporated into a variety of craveable recipes perfect for fall, including sweet and savory waffles, decadent grilled cheeses and fall hashes."
SPAM's website suggests that you use this product to fry it up with waffles, hash or eggs to “make the perfect breakfast or brunch pairing.”
No word on how long this item will be available (once it re-stocks) and no word on when more pumpkin spice flavored SPAM will be available again.
