The Wilmington community in Southern California is getting a new Toy Loan Center!
The Daily Breeze is reporting that Wilmington is indeed getting a new toy loan center. They add that the Department of Public Social Services unveiled the project - titled Toy Loan Center - at the Adobe Communities residential facility!
The purpose of this toy loan center is serve low-income families in the Wilmington area — allowing children to borrow toys. This program - The Toy Loan Program - has existed since 1935, as a free service that provides children with the opportunity to borrow toys through an honor- and merit-based system, requiring toys be returned in good condition, says the Daily Breeze.
The Toy Loan Program currently operates more than 54 toy centers throughout the Greater Los Angeles area.
