Looks like you don't have to move to a galaxy far, far away to experience the dome-shaped homes from Star Wars!
Hip-hop superstar, Kanye West, is using his love for the fictional saga to help people. The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Kanye is developing low-income housing units inspired by Star Wars architecture.
The original interview/story comes from his Forbes cover interview. The designer, entrepreneur and mostly importantly rapper is in the midst of creating housing units that resemble what Luke Skywalker lived in on Tatooine in 1977's A New Hope.
Sadly, no photos of the units were provided, but model structures are currently being constructed according to Forbes and The Hollywood Reporter.
THR adds that Kanye West has been working with a large team to design 'prefabricated structures' that sport the same austere aesthetic, with the goal of deploying them as low-income housing units.
The reports continues that Kanye hopes these low-income, Star Wars-inspired homes could be used as living spaces for the homeless, perhaps sunk into the ground with light filtering in through the top.
Kanye is reportedly meeting with potential investors in San Francisco soon. This is truly amazing on Kanye's behalf! Taking his platform to do some good in the world.
