Daddy Yankee does it all...including playing baseball!
Daddy Yankee and a bunch of other celebrities were up to some baseball this weekend. On Sunday (July 7), a wave of stars in the music, film, and television industry gathered at the Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio for MLB’s annual celebrity softball game.
This year’s roster was divided into two teams: Team Cleveland, which included names such as Drew Carey, Machine Gun Kelly, Quavo, and Hall of Famer Jim Thome; and Team World, including celebrities such the legend Daddy Yankee, Anuel AA, Jamie Foxx, and Dascha Polanco.
For those of you who didn't know, Daddy Yankee aspired to become a professional baseball player before becoming one of the pioneers of reggaeton. Yepp, he knows what he's doing. He played third base and was pitcher during Sunday’s game, according to Billboard. His global hit “Con Calma” blasted throughout the field when it was his turn to bat.
A true baseball aficionado, Yankee owns a softball team in Puerto Rico called “El Cartel Softball,” which focuses on doing charitable games. Betcha didn't know that too? See...you're learning a bunch about the Reggaeton icon!
Team World ultimately won the game with a final score of 21-16.
