Reboots and remakes of popular TV shows and movies are the new trend, and the iconic ABC series Lost may be making the list.
But would ABC actually ever bring back Lost ? ABC's new president, Karey Burke has expressed a desire to bring back the ever-popular show. Burke's comment comes after a video compilation of past and present network shows played before a room of reporters Tuesday at the Television Critics Association press tour.
Burke was asked if it a reboot of Lost (among other shows like NYPD Blue and Desperate Housewives) have future plans at the network. Here is what she said:
"Yes, I would like that very much. That is a reboot I would be interested in seeing."
Still not convinced? In that same press tour, Burke told reporters that "it is literally, at this point, what I dream about when I go to bed at night."
WE ALL DO! WE WANTS LOST BACK ON OUR SCREENS !
ABC's president clarified that she has not spoken to the executive producers of Lost or ABC Studios about it...yet. Nothing to report yet, but she does think it would be a fun conversation to have.
So there are no concrete plans in place for a Lost reboot at the moment, but Burke cautioned that there has to be a solid foundation in order for her to realistically consider rebooting or reviving beloved franchises for new audiences.
"I do [worry about there being too many reboots]. But look, they have to have a reason for standing on their own and have new stories to tell and aren't going backward, but going forward, I think they're valid," she said.
