Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee's 'Despacito' is still alive and well. In fact, the music 'Despacito' is thriving and breaking records...still.

The smash hit, which dropped in January of 2017, has earned seven Guinness World Records titles. The Puerto Rican singer shared a photo of his incredible accomplishment (AKA seven titles) on his social media. He thanked everyone involved in the global hit, including Daddy Yankee, who’s featured in the original single, and Justin Bieber.

The titles “Despacito” broke are:

  • Most weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart
  • Most-viewed music video online
  • Most-liked video online
  • Most-viewed music video on YouTube (duet)
  • Most-streamed track worldwide
  • First YouTube video to receive 5 billion views
  • Most-viewed video online

This is a translation of his post: “I am very honored to be part of the Guinness World Records family,” Fonsi stated. “‘Despacito’ broke 7 titles and this is thanks to you. Thanks to everyone who worked to achieve this success! Thanks @daddyyankee, I share with you brother,”

"On behalf of Guinness World Records, it is an honor to officially recognize Luis Fonsi for his worldwide success for ‘Despacito.’ It follows the tradition of Puerto Rican artists who break records, showing that on a small island, great talents are born."

Congratulations, Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber! This is an amazing accomplishment. Fonsi hilariously added the hashtage "#OficialmenteAsombroso", meaning #OfficallyAmazing.
