In an exclusive interview with Entertainment Tonight, Ally Brooke Hernandez talked her musical influences and how much she loves being a Latina.
The 25-year-old singer rose to fame as a member of the girl group Fifth Harmony back in 2012. In early 2018, the group announced an indefinite hiatus, giving Ally Brooke the opportunity to explore music as a solo artist.
Entertainment Tonight released a touching episode of "My Life as a Latina", which showcases influential Latinas in the entertainment industry. The latest episode featured the former Fifth Harmony member, and gave viewers a look at her life before fame.
ET's Deidre Behar asked Ally Brooke about her experience growing up in a Latinx home, in which she explained her parents were beyond supportive and were always rooting her on. She mentions that both she and her parents accomplished all of this together.
When Behar asked "What does being Latina mean to you?", Ally Brooke responded with:
"It means being strong and courageous, and the number one thing is passionate. We want people to come into our homes and feel like its their home. We have such beautiful culture with our music, with our dancing, with our food. I am SO thankful that I am Latina."
Although she is still in the early stages of recording her debut solo album, she reveals that her music will still be pop, but with deeper emotion. She was then asked who her biggest influences are in making this record, to which she responded Selena Quintanilla and Jennifer Lopez!
Who is excited to hear Ally Brooke's new music? I sure am! Her interview was SO cute. It warms my heart to know that she is just as proud to be a Latina as I am.
