Latin superstar, Luis Fonsi, is joining forces with Google to continue helping Puerto Rico. The Puerto Rican singer announced the Google.org spotlight campaign for Puerto Rico on his Instagram.
Last year, Hurricane Maria made landfall in Puerto Rico, and since then, the revitalization has been very slow and services still unreliable. Puerto Rico still has a ways to go to get back on their feet.
Google's campaign, which initially generated $ 1.5 million for hurricane relief, is now relaunching, but this time, the company will match up to $2 million -- meaning it could raise $4 million in aid for Puerto Rico, with emphasis on economic recovery of small and medium-sized businesses and tourism.
According to Google, Luis Fonsi is the first artist to join the campaign, made the official announcement on his social networks.
Other artists are expected to join Google and Fonsi to help Puerto Rico recover from Hurricane Maria.
