Disneyland's popularity often means long lines not only for their attractions, but also to order food!
Well, good news! Disneyland resort is finalizing plans to launch a new online ordering system that will allow visitors to look at menus on the resort's mobile app, and order a meal for pick-up later.
The new system will be available at both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure, but not at the hotels.
No specific locations have been announced yet, but probably about 15 eateries will be involved when this launches.
“It’s very quick and very easy – a convenience for our guests,” said Mike Miranda, senior manager for digital guest experience at the Disneyland Resort.
Here's how mobile ordering will work. It will work similar to Starbucks' popular app; you browse the menu, then select the product that you desire and then purchase it. However, the difference is that you can select a specific time that you would like to pick up your food. For example, between 11:30 and noon, at a participating restaurant. Starbucks' and other current fast-food apps give you a limited time frame from when you purchase to when you have to pick up your food.
When approach the location during the time frame, the app will send a pop-up asking if you're ready to pick up your order. The magic then happens from there, and you'll be notified which window to pick your food up from.
This is very exciting news for Disney Resort fans! Sometimes waiting in line can become a little excruciating. This will also be an effort to increase the amount of registered users on the Disneyland App.
Maybe, by this summer, the lines will be shorter!?
