Here is some exciting news! Netflix is currently working on two Carmen Sandiego projects and BOTH involve the amazing Gina Rodriguez.
The educational adventure game and television series (1991 - 1995), Carmen Sandiego, is coming to Netflix as a live-action movie and as an animated series! Gina Rodriguez (Jane the Virgin, Annihilation) is going to be playing mystery thief Carmen Sandiego in the upcoming live-action movie project. Rodriguez will also be voicing the character in the animated series set to premiere in 2019.
The live-action movie is still in its early stages, according to a report from Deadline. As of right now ,there are no directors or writers attached to the stand-alone project.

The Jane the Virgin star will produce the animated series through her "I Can and I Will" Productions alongside producers Kevin Misher and Caroline Fraser.
I Can and I Will Productions was founded by Gina Rodriguez in 2015 and their mission is to "create art that tells stories from the unheard and unseen, discover and expose new talent and increase empathy and understanding for all communities."
She is such an inspiration and I love that her mission is to tell all these untold stories from all walks of life. Keep an eye out for the live-action movie and the animated series, both coming to Netflix!
