Frida Kahlo is a world-renowned artist who's uniqueness is honored around the globe. The Mexican painter's impact has reached the streets of California...quite literally.
Frida is getting her own street in San Francisco! The street will now be known as 'Frida Kahlo Way'. The street name change is expected to happen in the next two weeks. 'Frida Kahlo Way' will be located in front of City College of San Francisco
In case you didn't know, the artist first visited the city in 1940. Many of her work, including several murals, can be found in the Bay Area. San Francisco has already honored the Frida Kahlo in many ways, including a festival devoted to her, murals of her, and some of her original artworks can be seen at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
Very proud to see her being recognized for her uniqueness and her art being honored.
I would love to go up and see not only this mural, but take a picture with the street sign!
