If You Get a Call from Your Own Number, Don't Answer It

You may want to, but if you get a call from what appears to be your own phone number, officials are urging you not to answer.

The scam is called spoofing, which involves a call from your number and someone on the other end claiming they are calling to say your account has been flagged for security.

If you do answer, the person may ask for the last four digits of your Social Security number. Giving out your information makes you susceptible to identity theft.
