Mandy Moore Sang ‘Only Hope’ From ‘A Walk to Remember’ On Instagram Live

Mandy Moore gave her loyal, longtime fans a true gift on Saturday (April 5). Alongside her husband, Dawes frontman Taylor Goldsmith, the This Is Us star performed a 45 minute concert on Instagram Live. In a wonderful surprise, her set included the heart-wrenching ballad 'Only Hope' from her 2002 film A Walk To Remember. This was a special moment not only because it was recreation of a breakout moment in Moore's career, but because it's the first time she's sang 'Only Hope' in almost 20 years.

Though fans of both Moore and A Walk To Remember have kept 'Only Hope' in regular rotation on their playlists over the past two decades, Moore admitted she wasn't as familiar with the song because she only sang it live once at a concert in the Philippines not longer after A Walk To Remember premiered. Despite being an iconic pop culture moment from the early aughts, the only other time Moore has sung 'Only Hope' was for the film's soundtrack. "Bear with me," Moore told fans tuned in to the live stream. "Because I don’t really know it."

Unsurprisingly, Moore nailed every line and the flawless clip quickly went viral. Moore's fans were thrilled to see her belting out 'Only Hope' again after all this time. The songstress even teased she had plans to bring the ballad back in an even bigger way on her tour, which was sadly postponed as a result of COVID-19. "We're going to fold it into the tour in some regard, but we hadn't really quite figured out the right arrangement for it."

It's unclear when Moore will actually get to set off on tour for her recent album Silver Landings for now. If her fans' reactions to her live stream is any indication, however, they'll be even more excited to see her perform live once she's able to hit the road.
