Southern California native Tiger Woods expressed his gratitude to firefighters battling the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles on Tuesday (January 14). The golf legend, originally from California, shared his heartfelt message on Twitter, stating, "My heart is with those who have suffered unimaginable loss." He praised the bravery and dedication of the first responders working tirelessly to protect communities. Woods also announced plans to update the public on his charitable efforts to aid those affected by the fires.

The wildfires have caused significant destruction in Los Angeles, with over 5,500 properties destroyed and estimated losses reaching $150 billion. More than 3,500 firefighters are currently engaged in efforts to contain the flames.

In addition to addressing the wildfires, Woods recently made his debut in the Tomorrow Golf League (TGL), an indoor golf competition he co-founded with Rory McIlroy. Woods' team, Jupiter Links Golf Club, faced off against the Los Angeles Golf Club but lost the match. Despite the loss, Woods expressed excitement about the new league, describing it as a "dream come true" and a new way to experience golf.

As the situation in Los Angeles continues to unfold, Woods' commitment to supporting the affected communities highlights the importance of public figures using their influence for positive change. His upcoming charitable initiatives aim to provide much-needed assistance to those impacted by the fires.
