This may have been the last year to get your partner one of those foil heart-shaped balloons. Well, at least here in the state of California. According to KTLA, by 2028 metallic balloons will be illegal.
I know what you're thinking. "Why?? They're so cute, cheap and convenient!" While that may be true, apparently they are the cause of a lot of power outages. I know you have seen those balloons caught between the power lines, before. Well that can cause major damage around the city.
Different cities have done what they can to combat this problem. I remember going to Party City in Burbank and couldn't get helium in my balloon because the city banned it.
