It has been confirmed that a biopic based on the late Amy Winehouse is currently in progress. According to Variety, the project is still in the beginning stages and casting is underway.
The movie will be directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson who is the brains behind "Fifty Shades of Grey." Taylor-Johnson was actually close with Amy Winehouse when she was alive, so this is more of a passion project for him.
