This week, LA County city council unanimously voted to ban travel to Florida and Texas over recent LGBTQ+ policies.
Over the past few months, there have been a ton of controversy surrounding the "Don't Say Gay" bill that has put in place in Florida. According to ABC7, Texas has been in the new after Gov. Greg Abbott restricted gender-affirming treatments when it comes to children, calling it "child abuse."
LA County has made it clear that they are not in alignment with the beliefs of Texas nor Florida. Therefore, travel from LA County to those particular states is now prohibited. The only exception to this new rule is if the reasoning to the travel is if not going would "seriously harm the county's interests.''
Looks like spring break just got cut short for a lot of LA residents.
