Call it a motivational tool. Call it whatever you want. It's a great idea from Uber to try and get the most out of their drivers.
The ride-sharing app will cover online college tuition costs and other perks for their best drivers.
“Drivers earn status by getting points and by giving great service — those unlock status,” Daniel Danker, head of driver product at Uber, told BuzzFeed News. “We want to recognize commitment from drivers.”
Drivers will be placed into three tiers. Those tiers are gold, platinum, and diamond. Depending on the tier you are in, you'll get some great advantages.
For example, Platinum drivers who have driven more than 3,000 rides will have their full tuition covered at Arizona State University's (ASU) online program.
