Ever wish you could get closer to the animals at the zoo? That's exactly what happened today when Ali the Elephant went on a stroll around the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens in Florida.
Ali became famous when he spent time at Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch. He briefly escaped his enclosure at the zoo today by wandering through a gate that was accidentally left open. The bull elephant wound up in a courtyard behind the giraffe and elephant barn. The Florida zoo insists that the guests were never in danger the 20 minutes Ali was loose.
The Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens shared a post on Facebook detailing the incident and shared that food was used to entice Ali to go back into his enclosure. The zoo insists that this human error will not happen again. They promise to revise there policies and safety protocols to ensure the safety of visitors and the animals alike.
