A new record for the world’s oldest living dog has been confirmed in Florida. A Chihuahua named TobyKeith was born on January 9, 2001.
Guinness World Record verified his grand old age of 21 years and 66 days on March 16, 2022.
Gisela Shore adopted TobyKeith from an animal shelter when he was just a few months old.
"I was a volunteer at Peggy Adams Animal Rescue and one of the employees told me about an elderly couple trying to surrender a puppy because they could not take care of him any longer," said Gisela.
According to Gisela, she met with the elderly couple and was introduced to TobyKeith who was originally named Peanut Butter.
Their story has spanned two decades and continues to go strong.
Gisela started to consider that TobyKeith could be the oldest living dog when he turned 20.
