With Earth Day 2022 rapidly approaching on Friday April 22nd, there will be plenty of events in which you can participate around Los Angeles. These events range from cleaning up beaches to paddling out in celebration of Earth Day. You can also expect that most of these events will be free for those interested in participating. However, registration may required for some of these events due to limitations in group sizes.
For instance, the Earth Night Slow Roll in Pasadena will feature a five-mile trek through the city and swag will be provided, but registration for the event is a must. The Kids Club Earth Day Celebration is a family-friendly event that will allow kiddos to go green, learn more about the importance of protecting Earth's environment, and will raise environmental awareness through music and puppet shows. Admission for that event is free, but it is important to double check each event to see whether or not they are free though most tend to be for the general public.
Metrolink will be offering free rides all day on Friday as well so you can ditch your car and relax on the train.
If you're looking to spend on sustainable options the Earth Day Market will serve as a great event for that purpose. There will be many sustainable brands to choose from to help elevate awareness of the issue of sustainability when it comes to Earth Day. Furthermore, complimentary drinks will be served at that event and there will even be a DJ to liven things up.
The beach cleanups tend to be more flexible with registrations as often the more is the merrier. For most of the beach clean ups, you need to bring your own supplies like a grabber and gloves, but some of the events will provide grabbers on a first-come-first-serve basis. You can find a beach clean up at many of the local beaches in the Los Angeles area for the awareness day. Some of the beach cleanup events are hosting parties as well to celebrate Earth Day.
Earth Day weekend will be packed full of fun events in the Los Angeles area so be sure to check them out while you can!
