We all know how difficult it can be to enjoy the warm sunshine state when we constantly have to fight to move between the throngs of people. Los Angeles County is home to 10 million residents and it doesn't seem like the population growth is slowing down anytime soon. Although it can be exciting to check out the latest pop-up shop on Hollywood Blvd or run into your favorite celebrity while dining, sometimes we need a break. Getting away from it all can almost seem impossible, but thankfully there are a few hidden spots that you may find some solace. This is one of the most beautiful beaches you're gauranteed to come across. Whip out the good camera because you're going to want to show some friends (or not, shhhh!). This beach is one of the three “pocket beaches” making up the Robert H. Meyer Memorial State Beach area. It's a pretty narrow area so you'll want to get there early to solidify the perfect spot.
2. Abalone Cove Shoreline Park5970 Palos Verdes Dr S, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275
If hiking and nature walking sound like a wonderful Sunday afternoon to you then this is the spot for you. This beach is apart of the Abalone Cove Ecological Reserve and just might give you some super cool views of whales migrating offshore or sea lions sunbathing.
3. Leo Carrillo State Beach35000 W. Pacific Coast Highway Malibu, CA 90265
This beach is divided into two separate parts which may suit what you're looking for. Lifeguard Tower 2 is used as a dividing line to distinguish between North Beach and South Beach. North beach is your go-to for all-around family fun. You can even bring your pet. South Beach, on the other hand, is your destination for coastal caves, offshore reefs, and tide pools. So really, you get two beaches in one!

Unfortunately, this beach isn't pet-friendly, but it sure it surf friendly. Catch some waves and some sunshine while you're at it at this Malibu beach. Surfers and non-surfers are welcome here and there are amazing scenic views to compliment the adventure.
5. Point Dume State Beach7103 Westward Beach Rd Malibu, CA 90265
Calling all adventurers out there! This beach is the perfect spot for those who enjoy some good water activities and rock climbing. Try spending your time here swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, windsurfing, or checking out some wildlife. Or if you're experienced enough, try out rock-climbing.
6. Lechuza Beach31711 Broad Beach Rd., Malibu, CA 90265
If you don't mind hanging on the sand and not swimming or surfing then this is the beach for you. Spend the day sunbathing, exploring tide pools, walking, and all out relaxing in this joyous location.
