Hot Dog! It's National Hot Dog Day! Here's Where to Get Freebies and Deals

it's national hot dog day!

Mustard or Ketchup? Mayo or Relish? Sauerkraut or Onions? Whatever you prefer to put on your hot dog, it's time to break out the weenies because July 18 is National Hot Dog Day!

There's good reason why America loves their hot dogs - heck they're about as American as apple pie! They're a staple for people at summertime cookouts and tailgating parties. The hot dog is versatile - you can add whatever toppings that catch your fancy (just don't ask for ketchup in Chicago), they're the perfect food while watching a ballgame and they are varieties available for our vegetarian and kosher friends!

Fortuantely for us, to celebrate #NationalHotDogDay, some of your favorite restaurants across the Southland are offering up some great deals on franks.

Dog Haus is giving folks who download and register on their app a FREE Haus Dog. You can then head to any participating location to get your fancy hot dog treat!

Hot Dog on a Stick is celebrating National Hot Dog Day a few days later on July 23. Head over to one of their participating locations on Monday to get a free spicy stick item with any lemonade purchase.

Or, if you're in the mood for a more classic dog - 7-Eleven stores are offering Big Bite hot dogs at participating stories for only a buck.

Costco continues to sell their delicious deal of a hot dog and a soda for $1.50 as they have for the last 33 years. That price is well below the national average for a street hot dog today which floats around $2.

Sonic Drive-In have put their Chili Cheese and All American Hot Dogs on sale for only $1. Just text DOG to 876642 to get the coupon. Corn dogs are always 99 cents during their Happy Hour from 2 to 4 p.m. daily.

And of course, you had to know Wienerschnizel would have to get in on the fun. Not only is the national hot dog chain selling five Original Chili Dogs for $5 at participating locations, Wienerschnizel will also be holding the Wienerschnitzel Wiener Nationals at Los Alamitos Race Course this Saturday. Admission is only $3 for adults while kids under 17 can get in for free.
