What did owners do before jumping into own business?
Before Chocoflancitos_Evelyn, I worked as a Behavior therapist providing services to individuals on the Autism Spectrum. I would provide services at school, home, and in the community for behavior reduction.
When was the business founded?
Chocoflancitos_Evelyn was founded May 2020 during the peak of the pandemic.
A little bit of why you started your company:
Chocoflancitos_Evelyn started because I decided to take a risk and quit my job during the pandemic. After losing many hours of work due to the closure of schools and home session cancellations, I decided to pursue one of my dreams. I was struggling to survive financially so I decided to give it a try and start my small business.
What do you offer?
Currently offering many flavors and different topping decorations. On the menu, we have the traditional Chocoflan, Fresa-Flan, Red-Velvet Flan, Carrotcake-Flan, and Brownie-Flan. The topping options are fruit (strawberry & peach), Cookies & Cream, and Strawberry Crunch. I am open to special requests and will personalize a chocoflan as much as I can.
What happened during the pandemic? How did you pivot?
During the pandemic my business really took off and grew. I was able to participate as a vendor in local breweries and coffee shops and gain more exposure. My Instagram page began to grow little by little and people became interested in my chocoflancitos.
