You Can Now Add CA Digital Driver's License Or ID Card To Your Apple Wallet

Californians are now able to add their CA digital driver's license and state ID cards to their Apple Wallet.

“Californians now have the option of adding their driver’s license or state ID to their iPhone or Apple Watch in Apple Wallet,” Gov. Gavin Newsom said in a statement. “With this new integration, we’re working to better serve the people of California in the 21st century.”

The reason for this new feature is all thanks to the mobile driver's license (mDL) pilot program that launched last year. If you're interested in adding your CA driver's license or ID card, simply click the "+" button located at the top right inside the Wallet app, select "Driver's License or State ID," and follow the instructions to complete the process.

If you're an android user, you already have the ability to add your digital driver's license or ID cards to the Google Wallet. Now adding your digital driver's license or ID cards don't mean you won't need to carry the physical card because some places have not begun to accept them. Hopefully in the near future digital driver's license or ID cards will be accepted. For more, click here.
