Jenna Ortega Reveals She Was 'Unprofessional' While Filming 'Wednesday'

In a recent interview on the "Armchair Expert With Dax Shepard," Jenna Ortega opened up about how she became "very protective" of her character and was "unprofessional" during the filming of Netflix's hit series, "Wednesday."

Ortega said that she changed several lines and put her "foot down" several times during the filming of "Wednesday." During the podcast interview, Ortega explained that:

"I don't think I've ever had to put my foot down on a set in the way that I had to on 'Wednesday' because it's so easy to fall into that category, especially with this type of show," Ortega told Shepard and Monica Padman, his cohost.
"There were times on that set where I even became unprofessional, in a sense, where I just started changing lines. "The script supervisor thought I was going with something, and then I would have to sit down with the writers, and they'd be like, 'Wait, what happened to the scene?' And I would have to go through and explain why I couldn't do certain things."

Ortega did go along with certain story elements that she didn't agree with because the show would need that "emotional arc." Ortega also talks about the iconic dance scene that went viral on social media, where she had asked Tim Burton if she could come up with the dance herself because she didn't trust anyone with her character.

"Initially, it was supposed to be a flash mob, and she was supposed to start dancing, and everyone was supposed to pick up on it and start dancing with her. And that, I vetoed because why would she be OK with that?" "I said, 'Either cut it or have Wednesday knock someone out, and then it's done.'"

Ortega said that being in "Wednesday" was not her "proudest moment" of her acting career so far because she doesn't want to be known for being like that when getting amazing offers for work. Honestly I love Ortega's honesty and the fact that she admitted her behavior wasn't the best truly shows how she is as a person. If you haven't watched "Wednesday," you can stream it now on Netflix.
