Still trying to figure out what to do for New Years?
The Santa Monica Pier will be hosting a countdown of their own where people will see the Pacific Park's iconic Ferris Wheel light up to bring in the new year. The Pacific Park Ferris Wheel contains over 174,000 LED lights and it overlooks Santa Monica's State Beach. The show is set to start at 11:30pm and includes special designs and colorful patterns. The actual countdown to 2023 will start 1 minute before the new year and people will be able to see each number on the wheel. Once the new year comes, people will see a huge "Happy New Year" in over 16 different languages on the Ferris Wheel. How dope is that!
