California is set to end its indoor masking requirement for vaccinated folks next week.
"CA’s case rate has decreased by 65% since our Omicron peak," Governor Gavin Newson shared via Twitter. "Our hospitalizations have stabilized across the state. Our statewide indoor mask requirement will expire on 2/15. Unvaccinated people will still need to wear masks indoors."
Local governments however, will be able to dictate their own indoor masking requirements. Last week Los Angeles County's health officials said they intend to keep theirs in place beyond the state deadline.
