Hi! If you follow me on social media, you know I struggle with anxiety. In fact, this past month or so, my anxiety has been really high.
When I saw my therapist this last week, I felt defeated. "I feel like I'm a prisoner in my own brain," was the only way I could sum it up.
A lot of the time, anxiety can be a lot of negative self-talk. So I decided to write down all of the things I loved about myself and encouraged you to do the same. It was a really fun exercise- it helped a bit!
I logged on Twitter this morning and saw Tracy Clayton, a former Buzzfeed writer, tweeting about a breakthrough she had with her therapist on negative-self talk and how we should be nice to that negative voice in our head.
I know. I was skeptical too, but this thread is awesome and you should give it a read. I feel like I had a breakthrough reading it myself!
Thank you for being vulnerable, Tracy!
