The Walt Disney Company has become the latest corporation to get rid of plastic drinking straws.
Disney plans to stop using single serving plastic straws and plastic stirrers at their parks around the world by mid-2019. All except for Tokyo Disney, because the theme park is actually owned and operated by The Oriental Land Company.
For Disney, that would mean a reduction of 175 million straws and 13 million stirrers every year.
Starbucks recetly announced they will also drop plastic straws by 2020. McDonald's will be also testing out straw alternatives sometime this year.
Hopefully they make Mickey-themed alternative straws like the one below!
