Snapchat has been having some trouble lately. Between its very unpopular app redesign and the Rihanna incident, 2018 has not been Snapchat's year.
According to KTLA, the social media company is hoping to change their bad luck around by slowly changing the app design back to it's original layout.
KTLA says that some users are now seeing their friends' stories back on the Discover page, which was strictly devoted to celebrities and "influencers" when the app was redesigned, which was one of the biggest criticisms.
Even major celebrities were not vibing with Snapchat's update, including Kylie Jenner who tweeted that the redesign was "so sad" back in February, which caused the company's stock to plummet.
The stock has apparently not been able to recover as KTLA is reporting that it is "down 7% in midday trading, putting it more than 15% below the price when it went public last year." The news source also said that Snapchat might not "be able to be profitable enough to live up to the hype before it went public," which is scaring investors.
To be honest, I'm not shocked because the redesign was awful, and Instagram stories provides pretty much the same features at this point as Snapchat, so there's no reason to keep using it... other than to keep those streaks alive.
