Kristen Wiig will officially be in the "Wonder Woman" sequel, according to the film's director Patty Jenkins.
So excited to confirm the most thrilling news. Yes! It’s true! So incredibly lucky to welcome the sensationally talented Kristen Wiig to our Wonder Woman family. Can't wait to finally work with one of my favorites. And SO excited by what we have planned. #Cheetah!!! @GalGadot pic.twitter.com/Gn0jICiIAH— Patty Jenkins (@PattyJenks) March 9, 2018
Jenkins tweeted the above message out this morning saying how excited she was to have the SNL alum part of the blockbuster film's sequel. Honestly, same.
Her role in the movie is not yet confirmed, but Jenkins included #Cheetah in her tweet which hints at the fact that she might be playing the villain, like rumors have speculated. Interesting, I don't think we've ever seen her as a villain. We're so used to seeing Kristen in comedic and lovable roles!
According to E! News, the director also says that she wants Wonder Woman to make her way to the United States, so we may be seeing the sequel take place on our home turf.
The movie does not have an official release date yet, but is due out November 2019.
Can it hurry up?
