Pop music has been around for centuries.

The genre is home to hits from world-renowned artists like Rihanna, Elton John, Taylor Swift, Micheal Jackson, Beyoncé, Madonna, Miley Cyrus, George Micheal, Whitney Houston, and The Beatles, among other iconic creatives.

With a never-ending library of the most legendary, infectious, pop hits of all time at our fingertips, how can one pick a favorite?

Be it relatable lyrics, a catchy melody, or a combination of elements that listeners feel instantly connected to, something about the single we're going to discuss in this article resonates with fans so much, that it tops the list of the "best pop songs of all time."

According to a list compiled by Time Out, the best pop song ever made is Chappell Roan's "Good Luck, Babe!" The record-breaking track, released in 2024, offers a subtle jab at situationships, paired with a melody so contagious that listeners can't help but scream the chorus.

Other pop songs that made the list include "Torn" by Natalie Imbruglia, "Semi-Charmed Life" by Third Eye Blind, "Apple" by Charlie XCX, "Padam Padam" by Kylie Minogue, and "Umbrella" by Rihanna featuring Jay-Z to name only a few.

Here's what Time Out had to say about their choice for the best pop song of all time:

"This gorgeous single is on the newer side but it’s already ascended to iconic status. Roan’s 'f*** you' song to a former lover contains ’80s-inspired synths and clear homages to a number of artists, including Dolly Parton, Miley Cyrus, Kate Bush and Cyndi Lauper. At the song’s bridge, everyone around you will scream the lyrics at the top of their lungs – the sure sign of a perfect pop song."
